  • O’Hara set for European Le Mans Series debut in Spa-Francorchamps

Former Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year Kevin O’Hara is set to take on one of the biggest challenges of his career to date, as he makes his European Le Mans Series debut at the historic Spa-Francorchamps this weekend in round five of the series.

In a last minute deal, O’Hara will join long time friend Dan Polley behind the wheel of Spanish team SPV Racing’s Ligier JS P3. Joining the pair to complete the line up, will be Danish driver Kim Rødkjær.

While the Kildare driver hasn’t been behind the wheel of any high-downforce machinery of late, O’Hara is no stranger to sportscars, winning the China Radical Cup in 2009, and working with 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 winners KCMG on their LMP2 programme over the last number of years.

With his administrative checks now complete at the Ardennes circuit, Kevin will get his first taste of Ligier LMP3 machinery when Free Practice One begins this afternoon at 15:20 (local time).

Qualifying will be on Saturday at 13:47 (local time) with the Four Hours of Spa-Francorchamps getting underway on Sunday afternoon at 13:56 (local time).

The race will be broadcast live across Europe on Motors TV along with BT Sport in the UK and Ireland.

Kevin O’Hara – #5 SPV Racing with Speed Factory Ligier JS P3:
“It’s great to be part of such a fantastic championship like the European Le Mans Series this weekend. Spa-Francorchamps is one of the best circuits around, so I’m really looking forward to getting my first laps completed in the SPV Racing Ligier. A big thank you to everyone who has made this possible.
